A Year in Reflection: The Challenges and Rewards of 2024

As 2024 came to a close, we found ourselves reflecting on what has been both a trying and rewarding year for Charter Oak Media. At the start of the year, the business was beginning to come into its own. Processes, client relationships, and our overall identity started to take shape. It was an exciting time filled with growth and opportunity, but also one marked by significant challenges.

Early on, we made the strategic decision to focus intently on delivering value to our current clients—Arcadia Kitchen and Bath, Rancourt & Company, and Sabre and Back Cove Yachts. This focus paid off in meaningful ways. A video we produced for Arcadia Kitchen and Bath went viral, amassing over 30 million views (though it came at a cost—more on that another time). For Rancourt, our factory content consistently hit over 500,000 views, providing unparalleled exposure for their craftsmanship. We were also invited to document a Sabre and Back Cove Yachts event in Provincetown, Massachusetts, an experience that allowed us to strengthen relationships with an incredible customer base.

However, none of these successes came without challenges. Each milestone was accompanied by a learning curve—some expected, some not. With every hurdle, we made strategic pivots, ensuring that we not only overcame obstacles but also emerged stronger and more capable.

Mid-Year Trials and Transformations

Midway through the year, we made a bold move that we believed would propel the business forward. While it brought growth, it also came with unforeseen costs—primarily to our time. Long days and late nights became the norm as we worked to find balance. But amidst the chaos, something remarkable happened: Taylor, my wife and business partner, joined Charter Oak Media full-time.

Her contributions were transformative. Taylor took on early-stage video editing, content planning, and writing, which helped us rebuild efficiency and regain productivity. Together, we refined our processes, enabling us to take on more work without sacrificing quality. One of the most exciting outcomes of this period was forming a new partnership with Lee Auto Malls, a step that marked another significant milestone for our growing business.

Looking Ahead to 2025

This past year was a journey of growth, adversity, and perseverance. Every challenge we faced strengthened our resolve and prepared us for what lies ahead. As we step into 2025, we’re ready to tackle new opportunities, embrace further growth, and continue delivering exceptional work for our clients.

To everyone who has been part of the Charter Oak Media journey in 2024—thank you. Your support, collaboration, and encouragement have been invaluable. Here’s to another year of learning, growing, and thriving together.
